Dear members of the Management Consulting Division,
As artificial intelligence reshapes consulting, what will distinguish the management consultants who create lasting value from those whose expertise becomes increasingly commoditized?
Artificial intelligence is transforming not only our clients' organizations but also the consulting profession itself. As AI increasingly performs analysis, diagnostics, and strategic recommendations, consultants are being called upon to create value in new ways-through change leadership, organizational adaptation, stakeholder alignment, and benefit realization.
This workshop brings together diverse perspectives from consulting practice and academia to examine these emerging challenges. Rather than presenting a single framework or set of answers, we aim to create a space where different experiences, viewpoints, and approaches can be critically explored through discussion, case analysis, and debate.
We invite you to join us for a Professional Development Workshop that explores this evolving role of management consultants in an AI-accelerated world:
Consulting in an AI-Accelerated World: From Strategic Advice to Change Leadership
 Location: Sunday, August 2 | 11:30 AM–1:00 PM
Date & Time: Loews Philadelphia Hotel – Adams Room
This highly interactive workshop examines how consultants can strengthen their impact as AI reshapes consulting practice. Rather than focusing on AI technologies themselves, we will explore how consulting judgment, change leadership, and adaptive engagement design become increasingly central to successful AI-enabled transformations. Participants will work through practical consulting scenarios and discuss how to navigate organizational readiness, stakeholder alignment, and continuous change in complex client environments. These themes reflect the workshop's emphasis on consulting judgment in action and the shift from delivering advice to leading meaningful organizational change.
The workshop is facilitated by:
-
Greg Voeller (Senior Director, Gagen MacDonald, an APCO Company; Past President, ACMP)
-
Rita Čiapaitė-Baublienė (Senior Partner, CHANGE LT)
-
Gediminas Baublys (Assistant Professor, Vilnius University)
Whether you are a consulting practitioner, scholar, or educator, we hope this session will stimulate new thinking about how consulting value is created in an era where change leadership is becoming as important as strategic advice. The workshop is designed to engage participants from across research, teaching, and consulting practice.
If you will be attending AOM 2026, we would be delighted if you joined us.
We look forward to seeing you in Philadelphia.
Warm regards,
Gediminas Baublys
