Dear fellow consulting researchers,
A decade ago, Fincham and Clark (2002) published a special issue of ISMO on management consultancy reflecting on one decade of research. Now, another decade has passed which seemed like a good opportunity to reflect on what has been achieved in the meantime. For that purpose we have put together another special issue that presents some of the new developments in this exciting field of research.
To celebrate our special issue the publisher is granting free access to all papers in the issue until December 9th, 2013. As you will see, the papers use uncertainty as a central metaphor for taking stock of wide-ranging developments in research on consultancy, both in terms of the basic idea of consultants as uncertainty reducers for management, and many other interesting ways that consultants' uncertain position in client organizations plays out.
