    The College of Business and Entrepreneurship (COBE) Department of Management and Marketing at Fort Hays State University (Hays, KS) invites applicants for two tenure track positions for FALL 2013.  Initial Candidate review March 25 and will continue until filled.     Assistant/Associate Professor of Management – Human Resources (1)

    Position: The position is tenure-track with responsibility for teaching four three-hour courses (12 credit hours) per semester at the undergraduate and possibly the graduate level. Some courses may need to be developed and delivered using the Internet, video and/or other interactive technologies. Additionally, candidates are required to be engaged in scholarly activities, and to render service to the profession and COBE. Normal annual faculty evaluation is based on teaching (60%), research (20%) and service (20%).

    Qualifications: A Ph.D. or D.B.A. in Human Resource Management, Management, or a related field is preferred. D.B.A. faculty candidates must have research-based doctoral studies and have an established track record of research. Ph.D. ABD faculty candidates should have expectations to finish dissertation work within three years of ABD status, and must have demonstrated research potential. A record of successful teaching is desirable. Faculty candidates who are considered academically qualified under college accreditation guidelines will receive strongest consideration. Additional preference will be given to faculty candidates who are willing and able to manage the continued growth trajectory of the Management Development Center (MDC) at FHSU.     Additional Information Applicable to This Position: Full-time Assistant/Associate Professor of Management (HRM) with a four-course teaching load per semester. The person hired will be the departmental knowledge-leader in Human Resource Management and will be responsible for developing and teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in the Human Resources area, maintaining academic qualifications through scholarly work, and rendering appropriate service to the department, college, and university. The individual hired will be responsible for maintaining the recent recognition of curriculum alignment from SHRM, and continuously improving the undergraduate and graduate HRM academic programs at FHSU. Preference will be given to faculty candidates willing and able to teach in the on-campus and online graduate programs.     The Department
    : The Department of Management and Marketing has 16 faculty members with approximately 750 upper-level students enrolled. Functional business specialties of Management, HRM, Marketing, Tourism & Hospitality Management, and Business Education are included in the Department.

    The College: The College of Business and Entrepreneurship is seeking additional international accreditation, and offers programs through the MBA level. Business degree programs include the general MBA and undergraduate majors in Management, Marketing, Tourism and Hospitality Management, Accounting, Management Information Systems, Business Education, Finance, and International Business and Economics.

    The University: FHSU is a comprehensive regional university responsible for service to the western two-thirds of the State of Kansas, and beyond.
